This paper discusses the options for more effective and new ways for international collaboration with China over climate change mitigation. It describes the specific nature of international environmental collaboration; how it differs from simpler, less pervasive and less creative joint working techniques such as coordination and cooperation, what results from intensive collaboration, and what kinds of environmental collaboration China and the world must carry out in the future.
